Community Workshops

Barwon Water hosted five community workshops in the first half of 2020 to hear our communities’ views and ideas for our water future.

At the workshops, community members and people from community groups shared what water means to them and where they live, and explored new ideas for how we might use and source water in the next 50 years.

The workshops were held in Torquay and Bannockburn and online for communities in Geelong and the Bellarine, Apollo Bay and Colac.

A summary of the Torquay and Bannockburn workshops and a report is available here.

A report on the online workshops in Geelong and the Bellarine, Apollo Bay and Colac will be available soon.

We also invited people who couldn’t make it to our workshops to run their own session using an online conversation kit.

What will happen to the feedback?

All feedback will be captured in a report that will be considered by a community panel. The panel plays a key role in the Water for our Future program.

Made up of people representing communities across our region, the panel will develop a vision for our water future and criteria to assess future options. Your feedback will help the panel understand the views and values of local communities as part of its decision making.
